War AVERTED. Avengers ASSEMBLED. Loki DOWN for the count. Portal CLOSED. and YET, she didn’t feel as good as she thought she would. Her mind had been touched by the god of mischief, her secrets almost revealed to those who had no RIGHT to them. Nat had asked after her, had questioned how she felt, but Claire COULDN’T tell her the true answer. There was something different about the trauma that came when another god played with one’s mind.
That was neither here nor there though, she thought as she stared blankly out at the ruins of NEW YORK CITY. She could deal with that trauma alone at some other point, the most important thing was the city she loved was in ruins; the place she had called her head for so long had been broken by a mad man - mad god - who wanted revenge on ?? She wasn’t even really sure. Even with him in her head, she couldn’t understand his plans.
❜ It’s amazing the damage that happens in such a short period of time. ❜ She said, moving towards Thor. She felt weird around him. She felt weird around any who were like her ( not that she had met any before ), but she felt weirder around him since he was the brother - adopted or not - of the god who had taken over her mind and used her as a weapon. Her words echoed in her mind, was she talking about the city or was she talking about herself? She didn’t know and in truth, she didn’t want to know. Either answer caused her pain.
She turned her head ever so slightly to look at him from the corner of her eyes. ❜ I am sorry that you have suffered because of your brother. ❜ She, herself, knew the feelings of betrayal that sat in the stomach after one’s good graces had been taken advantage of by family.
