❜ i know, kate, i know. sometimes though, things don’t things don’t work out like how we wanted. ❜ that was the story of her life. try to do go, end up futzing everything up. she had hoped though, that kate in all her kate-like self would be able to avoid it; be able to avoid being affected ( because it was obvious to claire that somehow she had done something that made kate less kate-like ). claire sighed, moving to sit next to the girl, she had no clue what to say. the first time she had ever futzed up on a mission and caused someone to well, futzed up on a mission, there was nothing to be said. she knew what she had done wrong and had already been in the game long enough to not care. but kate, kate is still a child and she didn’t need the burden on her. but claire was not her mother, and as claire hadn’t had a mother for as long as it took to actually learn how to comfort someone, that meant that this would be a learning experience for both of them. ❜ but it’s okay, i promise, kate, everything will be fine. everyone makes mistakes, everyone’s allowed to and the only way to get better is to, is to learn from them. ❜
